Neufert`s “Architects’ Data” (Bauentwurfslehre) from 1936 is published in over the 30 editions, a standard lecture for architects worldwide. Superficially you can find any size for daily need such as the height of stairs or the width of bathrooms based on the sizes of the (male) human body. Having a closer look, the lecture reveals conventional representation of traditional gender roles even in the edition of 1998! While women can be seen on pictures doing the household, caring for the kids or consuming, men can be found in public rooms meant for buisness or education. The woman cleans the bathtub, the man takes a bath. Congrats!
