There`ll be an alternative to Facebook in near future: Diaspora is an open source and free social network, that is currently under construction. It shall offer users the full control over their privacy data. Etymologically located in Greek language the word means ‘to scatter’ or ‘to spread’ and displays the peripheral structure of this social networking tool.
Four students of informatics stand behind the idea of Diaspora. They could activate 4,100 contributors to donate for Diaspora`s development – far more than they`ve ever expected. As Facebook is loosing more and more members for its rigid privacy politics, the signs are pointing to a new kind of network. If you`re using of Facebook, join the group ‘Facebook Users Emigrate To Diaspora’.
