The German magazine Mode Depesche is one of my favourite places for the visual representation of fashion. As far as I´m too often bored by the inherent smugness fashion photography`s far too often suffering – just have a look at the reproduction of stereotypes – I was rather enlightened to come across the portfolio by GNEBORG. They did a series for the German magazine Mode Depesche N°7 in 2008 showcasing habits by Raf Simons. But even their other work (e.g. for Stephan Schneider or “Love, Sex and Aids II”) is full of performative aspects while de-constructing and turning around almost everything.. and be sure, there`re some hidden things you might find not before the second sight.
[Their copy-rights forbid “the reproduction in any form” and so I produced a little sketch to give you just a pretty poor idea of their work…and have to recommend a look at their virtual showcase.]
