missing the volume?

installation detail: Elisabeth Schafzahl, Körperhüllen, seen at unORTnung VI

This work discusses the distance which is set up between our body and our environmental surroundings by using orientation aids.
At one go,  Elisabeth Schafzahl produces clothes – the nearest cover to our body – out of maps and brings back the cubic capacity to the two-dimensional representation of the world ball in topography. Europe becomes a robe or- however you see it – perhaps a strait jacket?!
