coded cultures 2011: city as interface.

This year`s edition of the Coded Cultures Festival (21st September – 2nd October, 2011) is organized around the sub-topic City as Interface. It`s not only the program focusing on the City as Interface and its intersections with media, art, society and technology – even the festival`s locations reflect the team`s understanding of the topic:
Instead of choosing established exhibition halls or museums for the workshops, talks and exhibitions, the curational concept prepares self-initialized and self-organized locations in Vienna`s urban landscape.
Visitors will be introduced to the festival`s hot-spots and environment during the first week by expert-led city walks to explore the venues and locations of the festival. The 2nd week will feature talks and workshops to contextualize the impressions and the festival`s concept. The Festival Opening`ll take place tonight (21/09/2011) with a Pecha Kucha presentation at the Odeon, Taborstr. 10, 1020 Vienna – and here you go with some of my personal highlights from the program:
